Dry Acid
Hi, guys. I'm Gabe Talese for HASA. Today, we are looking at HASA's dry acid. It's a great product for lowering total pH and alkalinity in both pool and spa water and is a great alternative to muriatic acid.
You should maintain your pool and hot tub at pH levels between seven point two and seven point six, and alkalinity between eighty and a hundred and twenty parts per million. After testing your pH, add Hassa's dry acid if the pH is higher than seven point six. Add at the rate of a half pound for each zero point one pH unit reduction per twenty thousand gallons of water. Prior to adding dry acid to adjust your pH or alkalinity, test all your pool or hot tub's chemistry levels.
This should be done immediately prior to adding dry acid.
For best results, dissolve Hassa dry acid in a large plastic bucket and spread around the deep end of the pool with the pump running.
Remember, always add dry acid to water, not water to dry acid. Wait at least six hours and retest both alkalinity and pH levels. Adjust further if needed. Don't swim in a pool or enter a hot tub after dry acid has been added for at least four to six hours. Always read packaging directions for additional safe handling tips and the amount of dry acid needed in your particular situation. As long as you're keeping your pool maintained regularly, you shouldn't have too many problems with pH and alkalinity.
