Hard Water Instructions for HASA Liquid Feeder™ Users
Automated liquid pool feeder maintenance tips for hard water conditions and scale prevention.
Hard water is water that has a higher than usual mineral content. It's formed when deposits from limestone, chalk, and other natural substances made up of calcium, sulfates, and other material cause alterations in the water. While hard water is prevalent in many American residences, it can still have a measurable impact on your home's water source and on your pool. Your liquid feeder is a state of the art automated daily liquid pool chlorine dispenser solution. It's designed to automatically feed swimming pools with Hassa's premium SaniClure sanitizer.
It's a safe, easy, and convenient solution for pool care. Here are some easy to follow tips to ensure that your feeder system continues to work properly in hard water conditions.
A heavy addition of liquid sodium hypochlorite to the feeder system in hard water areas can lead to fast or scale formation within your system. We recommend you use three to four gallons of sanitizer at a time, always added slowly through the funnel opening. Consistent use of a scale prevention product is recommended in the swimming pool. Check and clean the float arm white gaskets twice monthly. Rub the white gasket in a circular motion, feeling for scale crystallization.
Rub away any scaling, and then lube the gasket using a silicone lubricant.
Lightly lube the in and out float arm circular white gaskets using a thin sheen, not an excessive amount.
Routinely clean the float arm gaskets and reapply a light lube application as necessary. The gasket should feel smooth and soft when properly cleaned and lubed. Monthly valve and tubing inspection and cleaning is advised to ensure the unit is working properly.
An annual changing of tubing is also recommended.
During the summer season, monthly maintenance of soaking fitting in a mild acid solution of one part acid to twenty parts water for five to ten minutes to remove scale buildup is suggested. With these simple tips, the liquid feeder should run smoothly all year round. Thank you, and enjoy the benefits of automated daily sanitization with the liquid feeder.
