Chlorine is not cut out for the job, yet it is left with the burden of having to oxidize the organic waste by itself. What are examples of non-living organic contamination? Bather waste, body oils, lotions, cosmetics, sunscreen, grease, hair gels, pet dander, spit, mucous, and of course, urine.
Believe it or not, all of those contaminants are organic, which means they are carbon based. Simply PURE enzymes break down and digest–literally–carbon based organic waste. The process yields carbon dioxide, which bubbles out of the water, and water itself. So rather than oxidizing (burning) carbon waste and yielding all sorts of harmful disinfectant byproducts (DBPs) like chloramines and trihalomethanes, let enzymes do the heavy lifting. They love it!
